Drama

The study of Drama enables students to develop individual, flexible and creative minds and bodies. Theatre Arts opens students to the humour, tragedy and possibilities of humanity. The possibilities inherent in organic and flexible group work, and the production of theatre, offers students valuable lessons in creative and social development.

St Luke's Grammar School offers all students the joy of performance and theatre. The students are given the opportunity to be involved in the School Production and Musicals each year. Their involvement can range from performing, designing, being a technical hand or helping with make-up. This provides the students with additional understanding of the elements involved in a major work of art.

Junior students have many opportunities to perform both in class and through extra-curricular activities. They are regularly entertained by elective Drama Students' performances on Theatre-in-Education, and by the residents Commedia Dell Arte Troupe. These performances are not only enjoyable but are also a valuable opportunity for the whole School to stay connected through drama.
