
Music
Music plays an important role in the life of the School. Our aims are:
- To provide quality Music Education within a learning community based on Christian beliefs and practices
- To provide the opportunity for all students to participate in the artistic life of the School
- To provide specialist instruction in a variety of musical instruments
- To encourage each student to fulfil their musical potential
- To encourage students to study music in the senior years and on to a tertiary level
- To provide a safe, supportive and encouraging environment for the study of music
- To encourage students to work with others accepting different viewpoints and values
- To produce confident, articulate and independent learners
- To promote music as a subject which leads to many exciting and worthwhile careers
St Luke's Grammar School also provides an opportunity for all students to further their interest and skills by offering individual tuition on a variety of musical instruments. Tuition is available in Traditional Piano, Suzuki Piano, Suzuki Violin, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Brass, Voice, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Drums. Lessons are scheduled throughout the School day on both a rotational and permanent basis. Some instruments are available for hire through the School.
St Luke's Grammar School Performing Ensembles
Students are able to further their interests in instrumental and vocal activities by being involved in an ensemble. The various ensembles are outlined in the "Rehearsal Times" document on the left.
There are a variety of performance opportunities available to students. These include regular recitals, assemblies, concerts and musical productions.
