Dear Parents and Carers,
Today is a very significant day in the life of St Luke’s Grammar School. As many of you may know, St Luke’s Grammar School has had a long and strong association with Loquat Valley Anglican School, a Junior School in Bayview. The schools have the same vision, principles and Christian foundation. Students from Loquat Valley have had priority entry to the Senior School for many years, and the majority the parents from Loquat Valley have chosen to continue their child’s education at St Luke’s Grammar School.
Over the past few months, the Anglican Schools Corporation has been exploring a number of options to ensure that Loquat Valley continues to grow and flourish. After careful consideration, the Corporation asked the St Luke’s Grammar School Council to embrace Loquat Valley as an additional Junior School campus. I am pleased to advise that the St Luke’s Council has agreed to undertake this opportunity.
This new arrangement will provide new and exciting opportunities. Terms 3 & 4 will be a transition period and from 2017, Loquat Valley Anglican School will be known as St Luke’s Grammar School, Bayview Campus.
The Dee Why and Bayview campuses will continue to run as separate sites but will work very closely together under the management of one School Council and one Principal. In order to assist me in the day to day running of the Bayview Campus, I am delighted to announce that Mrs Jodie Bennett, Assistant Head of Junior School, Dee Why, will take on the daily leadership and management of the Bayview Campus as Head of Junior School under my Principalship. Mrs Bennett is well known and respected by staff at Loquat Valley and her strong leadership skills will ensure a smooth transition.
Mrs Cheryl Turi will be Acting Assistant Head of Junior School, Dee Why Campus, for Terms 3 and 4 while the School undertakes a recruitment process to replace Mrs Bennett.
