  • Congratulations

    Congratulations to the following past and present students:

    • Imogen Richards (Class of 2010) on being awarded a scholarship to Sydney University.
    • Siobhan Hudson (Class of 2010) on being awarded first place in the Manly Youth Art Award and to Henry Curchod (Class of 2010) for also having his artwork selected to be hung in the exhibition.
    • Liam Hanrahan (Class of 2010) on winning a place in the prestigious Bachelor of Information Technology Co-operative Scholarship Program at UTS.
    • Alison Bryant (Class of 2010) whose successes at the Australian National Canoe Sprint Championships have qualified her for the Junior World Championships in Europe in June.
    • Marleen Kroon (Year 9) on her recent success at the Bathurst Gold Tournament for Tennis. Marleen is now ranked 2nd in NSW for her age group.
    • Olivia Curnow (Year 8) on her selection in the AICES Hockey Team.
    • Harry Sweeney (Year 11) on his selection for the NASSA Soccer Team.
    • Nicholas Robertson (Year 10), Emma Jeffcoat (Year 11), Madeleine Thomas (Year 12) and Max Brooks (Year 10) on their selection in the AICES Swimming Squad.
    • Lachlan Peknice (Year 6) on placing at CIS Swimming and being selected for Nationals in July.
    • Nicholas Frack (Year 9) on his selection for CIS Baseball.
    • Duke Kelleher (Year 6) who is a black belt in karate and placed third in his first tournament.



  • iPhone App

    7 April, 2011

    St Luke's Sport now has its very own iPhone app. For all parents and students who own an iPhone, the app will have a host of information in regards to sport at St Luke's. The application will feature the Twitter feed of changes to routine, venue information (which utilises Google maps on your phone) for all St Luke's sports venues, a list of upcoming sporting events, links to draws, registration forms and other relevant information.

    The application will also allow for notification to be sent in the case of last minute urgent information. The application will hopefully help in the transfer of communication between St Luke's and the community in regards to all sporting matters. Just go to the App Store, type in "St Luke's" and download it for free.




  • Past Student Making a Difference in the World

    Lia van den Bosch, 2005 School Captain, presented an inspirational speech to the students of St Luke's at the 2010 Speech Night. Lia has certainly been making a difference in the world through her work with Wellspring Projects in Delhi. Read Lia's speech here.



  • Manly Daily Junior Sportsperson of the Year

    Congratulations to Nick Robertson, Year 10, who recently won the Manly Daily Junior Sportsperson of the Year Award.

    Nick was nominated following his outstanding success at the 2010 Australian All Schools Swimming Championship where he received the following:

    Gold 50m Butterfly
    Gold 100 Butterfly
    Gold All Age Relay
    Silver 15/16 Years Freestyle Relay
    Bronze 50 Freestyle
    Bronze 5/16 Years Medley relay
    4th 100m 15 Years Freestyle

  • Years 3 - 6 Swimming Carnival

    The Years 3-6 Swimming Carnival was recently held at the Warringah Aquatic Centre. It was a fantastic afternoon where all students participated with enthusiasm. There were some outstanding performances on the day with Lachlan Peknice and Molly Graham breaking records. Many thanks to the wonderful Junior School staff for their support on the day.   • Sporting Success

    Congratulations to Nick Frack (Year 9) and Mikaela Turik (Year 11). Nick recently trialled for the Open NSW CIS baseball team and Mikaela for the Open NSW CIS cricket team. After a very impressive performance by each of them, both students were successful in making their respective teams. We wish them both continued success.



    Congratulations to both Harry Faeste (Year 11) and Marleen Kroon (Year 9) who recently qualified for the Open AICES Tennis Team to contest the CIS Championships on 2 March (boys) and 9 March (girls) respectively. Both students performed fantastically well with Harry progressing through without losing a game while Marleen, competing against students up to five years her senior, lost a tight first match then progressed through undefeated from that point. We wish both students well in their upcoming representative matches.


    Junior NASSA Tennis Gala Day
    The Junior NASSA Tennis Gala Day was held last Friday 11 February, with Harry Oates, Annabel Oates and Joshua Viljoen all venturing out to Campbelltown. Congratulations to all three students who have made it through to NSW CIS. Annabel was runner up in her Division, with Harry and Joshua fighting it out in their Division. Harry Oates the ultimate winner with Joshua runner up. Well done to all!
