The Australian School year is divided up into four terms, each approximately 10 weeks in length. The year starts towards the end of January / early February and concludes in early December.
In between each term are School holidays, ranging in length from 2 - 3 weeks, with the summer holidays being the larger break, in December / January, usually lasting approximately 8 weeks.
At both the Dee Why and Bayview campuses, students are cared for onsite and are offered time to rest, play, complete homework and enjoy light refreshments.
Additionally, Camp Australia often provides vacation care at local sites, during school holiday periods. Further details can be found at www.campaustralia.com.au
Dee Why: The bus service available to St Luke's Dee Why students is provided by NSW Government RTA Buses. These buses however, are specifically for St Luke's students, and in the mornings, drop the students directly to the front gate of the School, and in the afternoons pick them up directly from the School. The service is free to all Australian residents.
Bayview: St Luke's provides a private bus service to and from St Luke's, Bayview Campus from Avalon. The bus is clearly branded as St Luke’s Grammar School – Bayview Campus and is provided by North Sydney Bus Charters. Details including costs, timetable and route can be found on the Bayview Bus Information (right).
St Luke's is committed to healthy eating. Full-time professional chefs provide a selection of nutritious home style meals each day, minimising the use of processed foods containing high sugar, salt or fat content.
The menu ranges from basic to gourmet, covering the wide variety of needs of students from Pre-School to Year 12. A typical daily selection includes 2 - 3 different hot meals, cold foods such as sandwiches, salads and sushi, and tasty treats such as fruit, yogurt, ice blocks and other snacks.
The Canteen also relies on the help of parent volunteers. If you are able to assist in the Dee Why canteen please contact the Canteen Manager, Ms Karen Uren at email@example.com

St Luke’s aims towards being an ‘allergy friendly’ school.
Due to food allergies of several of our students, students are asked not to include nut products as part of their recess or lunch. This includes chocolate treats and chocolate and nut spreads such as Nutella.
For information on our nut policy or to advise of other dietary requirements, please contact the Canteen.
