Participation in sport is an important part of the education of well-balanced young people. It promotes an active lifestyle, social interaction, and a strong sense of sportsmanship and fair play. As such, St Luke's offers a comprehensive range of sporting opportunities to its students, both competitive and non-competitive, during and after school.
All St Luke's students are involved in regular sports lessons from Kindergarten to Year 10. Involvement in competitive sport commences in Year 3 and remains an integral part of School life throughout the Middle and Senior Schools.
At the beginning of each term, during their regular sports afternoons, students from Years 3 to 10 have the opportunity to trial for teams competing in the PISA (Peninsular Independent Sports Association). Students compete against other local schools in the following sports:
Boys Girls
Rugby League
Soccer
Cricket
Ultimate Frisbee
Oz Tag
Netball

St Luke's also offers the opportunity for students to participate in a wide range of sporting teams outside of school hours. Students nominate for sports at the beginning of the year and attend trials, where necessary, to be selected. Once students are enrolled in a team they are expected to attend regular training sessions and games. Sports available to students outside of school hours include:
| Basketball Netball Soccer Rugby | Tennis Sailing Water Polo |
The School holds annual athletics, cross-country and swimming carnivals for students. From these carnivals teams are selected to represent the School in further inter school competitions.
There are numerous other sports offered for students to pursue through our representative pathways of NASSA (New Anglican Schools Sports Association), AICES (Association of Independent Co-Educational Schools) and CIS (Combined Independent Schools). All details pertaining to representative sports are available from the Director of Sport.
