Teacher Spotlight: Alice Glyde

Ms Alice Glyde | Greenway Head of House | 31 August 2021

What makes St Luke’s Special?

St Luke’s is an incredible place to work and learn. Our students are curious, determined, supportive of each other and excited about learning. I love how there are so many opportunities for the students to extend and challenge themselves, both in and outside of the classroom.

What do you love about being a Head of House?

Being a Head of House is a great privilege and lots of fun! This year, I’ve really enjoyed working with Tori, Blake and Indi, our incredible Greenway JS House Captains, as well as the other Heads of House. This position is really about team work, so it’s great to be able to collaborate with these amazing people to encourage our students to get involved in the life of the School, feel proud of their House and have a sense of belonging. It’s also wonderful to be involved with students and staff across both campuses.

What can you be found doing when you’re not teaching?

I’m an avid reader, so I’ve been reading a lot during lockdown. I also love bush walking, getting outside and enjoying the glorious natural environments that we have on the Northern Beaches. When we’re not locked down, a few of my favourite things to do are skiing, travelling to beautiful places and making pottery on the wheel.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

I love ziplining, so I think it would have to be flying!
